Welcome to the temporary page of the tentatively named Computer Art Society hopefully to be approved at Oregon State University.

Very much so in the developmental phase, we're looking for people interested in exploring the impact of computers and technology on all mediums of art.

The following are a few general ideas for club activities: workshops on the various languages/toolkits, talks from researchers/artists, a place for members to show off what they're currently working on, etc. Hopefully this will all culminate in an exhibit which we can show to the public, because it's a great way to introduce people to computer and just get them to think about art in general.

So if you've familiar with any of the following:

  • Max/MSP
  • Pure Data
  • Processing
  • ChucK
  • SuperCollider
  • VVVVV
  • algorithmic composition
  • generative art
  • etc
You'll definitely be welcomed here, if you don't know what any of those are, well you'll learn!

Finally before this can stop just being an idea and actually become a club, I'm looking for a few students who want to step up and take a leadership role! Currently looking for a Vice President, a Treasurer, and a Secretary.
